The second Steel City Con of 2023 brought another round of con excitement to Pittsburgh! People traveled from all over the country for the opportunity to meet some of the celebrity guests, and with Mike Tyson, Katey Sagal, Willian Shatner, and Marissa Tomei being just a few of those guests, it’s no wonder! Steel City Con has evolved into one of the best local conventions. And while people come for the headlining guests, they stick around for the rest of the con magic. The halls of the Monroeville convention center were filled to the brim with incredible vendors, from classis toys and games to artwork and handmade goods to small businesses local to Pittsburgh like publishing company Obsidian Giant. Even local bands got in on the fun, like 13occult, a Pittsburgh horror-themed punk-metal band who was jamming out at their booth all weekend long.

The true heart of the convention, though, is always the fans. So many different people gathering in one place is always a magical experience. The wide array of guests and vendors brings every type of fan, young and old, princesses and metal heads, wrestling gurus and comic lovers, and everyone in between. Everyone brought so much life to the convention, especially those who donned costumes. The cosplayers are always a highlight of conventions, doubly so at Steel City Con. And the incredible costume contest always brings out the best of the best costumes! All in all, it was another incredible weekend at Steel City Con!
