In less than two months, Mad With Power Fest is finally back for its 7th year, set to electrify Madison, Wisconsin on August 2-3, 2024. This eagerly anticipated event promises an epic weekend of power metal, gaming, and camaraderie. With a lineup featuring incredible bands and a plethora of additional activities, this year’s fest is gearing up to be the most unforgettable yet.
Headlining the festival are two international powerhouses making rare appearances in the U.S. Fellowship, the UK power metal sensation, will be performing their first-ever North American show. Joining them is Japan’s heavy/thrash metal legends Anthem, who haven’t played in the U.S. since 1987. Their high-energy performances and timeless hits will undoubtedly be a highlight of the weekend.
Mad With Power Fest 7 is more than just a concert – it’s an immersive experience. Hosted by Madison’s own Ty Christian, also known as Fang VonWrathenstein, frontman of Lords of the Trident, the festival aims to foster community and engagement within the power metal scene. Attendees can look forward to not just a weekend of world-class heavy and power metal, but also free-to-play arcade and pinball games, a Magic: The Gathering tournament, and a plethora of on-site food trucks offering delicious local cuisine.
In addition to the headliners, the lineup includes a stellar roster of bands from around the globe. Magic Sword, known for their cinematic soundscapes and masked performances, will bring their unique blend of synthwave and metal to the stage. Oceans of Slumber’s progressive metal compositions, led by the powerful vocals of Cammie Gilbert, will offer a dynamic and emotive experience. Starkill, with their melodic death metal prowess, will deliver high-octane performances that are sure to energize the crowd. And it wouldn’t be a proper Mad With Power fest without Lords of the Trident blessing the stage with their epic storytelling and blistering guitars that will transport everyone to a world of heroic battles and mythical adventures. Also included on the stacked lineup are Intersection, Glyph, Dialith, Lame Genie, and Celestial Wizard.
Mad With Power Fest has grown significantly since its inception, evolving from a 400-person event at High Noon Saloon to last year’s sold-out spectacle at The Sylvee, hosting 1,500 attendees. This growth speaks to the festival’s reputation as a premier event in the power metal community. Fans from all over North America and beyond gather to celebrate their shared love for this genre, creating a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere.
For those who can’t attend in person, Mad With Power Fest 7 will be live-streamed on Twitch, ensuring that metalheads everywhere can partake in the festivities. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or a newcomer to the power metal scene, this festival offers something for everyone. From the electrifying performances to the interactive games and diverse food options, the weekend promises nonstop entertainment.
