When a band has been dominating the pop-rock scene for over a decade, you expect a certain level of showmanship, but nothing could quite prepare the massive crowd for what went down when 5 Seconds of Summer rolled into Pittsburgh. The Australian four-piece brought their massive Everyone’s A Star World Tour to PPG Paints Arena for a night of pure joy and singalongs with thousands of voices in unison. From the moment the lights dimmed, the energy inside the room shifted into something electric, with anticipation that could be felt.

Before 5SOS took the stage, The Band Camino kicked things off with an opening set that showcased why they’re rapidly ascending to rock stardom. It was just last year that this talented group was playing across town over at Stage AE, making this massive arena slot a huge leap forward for their career. They filled the cavernous space with absolute ease, blasting through infectious anthems that had early arrivals on their feet and dancing. Their tight instrumentals and soaring vocal harmonies echoed perfectly throughout the arena, effortlessly warming up the crowd. The Band Camino has clearly outgrown smaller clubs, and this tour is solidifying their status as a force to be reckoned with on the arena circuit.
“On June 11, 2026 5 Seconds of Summer performed to a massive crowd on their Everyone’s A Star! tour at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA,” read the screen behind the stage as the lights dimmed, “it would be their final performance.” When 5 Seconds of Summer finally emerged, the arena erupted into a collective roar that welcomed in a truly magical evening. Vocalist Luke Hemmings, guitarist Michael Clifford, bassist Calum Hood, and drummer Ashton Irwin took their places on a breathtaking, custom-designed circle stage. This unique setup allowed them to interact intimately with fans from every single angle, breaking down the usual barrier between performers and audience. The VIP fans in the center without a doubt got an experience of a lifetime! Bright lights swirled across the arena while bursts of colourful confetti rained down at the most triumphant peaks, transforming PPG Paints Arena into a dreamy wonderland. The overall vibes were incredibly warm and joyful, feeling less like a rigid, by-the-books rock concert and more like a massive celebration of friendship and music.

The night was a brilliant journey through their entire discography that perfectly balanced nostalgic throwbacks with their newest creative chapter. While 5SOS made sure to play a little bit of everything from their catalog, they placed a big focus on the fresh tracks from their 2025 album Everyone’s a Star. One of the absolute highlights of the night came during a special segment where the band performs a song chosen entirely by the fans of that specific city. Pittsburgh lucked out by choosing the moody, energetic track “You Don’t Go To Parties,” which prompted an absolutely massive venue-wide singalong. Every song felt re-energized in the live setting, showcasing how much they’ve grown as musicians and writers over the years.

The entire show featured a very creative structure that kept the audience hooked from start to finish. The concert was uniquely framed like an episode of 60 Minutes, where the band would play a block of two to four songs before the screens would transition into funny, pre-recorded video clips of mock interviews. One particular segment focused on a fictional breakup of the band, which led to a beautiful moment where each member took a turn showing off one of their solo works. Luke shone on “Starting Line,” Ashton bared his soul on “Have U Found What Ur Looking For?,” Calum delivered a moving rendition of “Don’t Forget You Love Me,” and Michael brought down the house with “enough.” But fear not, in the next segment they got back together! Hurray!

5SOS completely embraced the Pittsburgh experience, sparking a funny debate on stage as they playfully struggled to figure out the correct term for local residents, unfortunately never learning that the word is definitely Yinzers and absolutely not Pittsburghians. Iceburgh even joined them for some Penguins pride! After a night packed with surprises, the band closed out the unforgettable evening with an explosive final run of “Everyone’s a Star” and their iconic mega-hit “Youngblood,” leaving the exhausted but ecstatic crowd positively begging for more.
