It was an exciting Saturday night in the Burgh as Mammoth took over the Roxian with their The End tour. The show carried the electric promise of a band with a proud legacy and a firm grip on its future. Wolfgang Van Halen led the charge with a steady presence that honored his family name while proving he is carving his own path. His reputation has grown fast over the last few years, and fans gathered knowing they were about to witness a musician who backs every note with honest passion. Their new album The End brought fresh fire to the tour and the excitement in the room almost grew loud enough to shake the floor.

Return To Dust opened the night with a gritty burst of momentum that immediately locked in the early crowd’s attention. Their set had a raw edge that gave each song a steady pulse, and the band carried themselves like they had something important to say. The guitars cut through the room with a satisfying sharpness that matched the weight of the vocals, and the tight rhythm held everything together with precision. There was a confidence to their stage presence that elevated their set, making the room feel warmed up and restless in the best way.

Myles Kennedy followed with a performance that felt deeply grounded yet effortlessly soaring, the kind of set that reminds listeners why he is one of the most respected voices in rock today. The lead singer of Alter Bridge has been touring with his 2024 solo album The Art Of Letting Go. Myles stepped into the spotlight with a calm authority that only comes from years of experience. His vocals moved with both strength and control, rising into smooth high tones that seemed to float just above the crowd. His guitar work added layers of texture that filled the room with richness, and his presence made the set feel like a masterclass in both musicianship and emotional connection.

When Mammoth finally took the stage, the shift was instant and electrifying. Wolf led the charge with a steady mix of humility and power, letting the music speak for itself while still creating a strong connection with the crowd. His bandmates moved with unified purpose, bringing tight harmonies and energetic playing that pushed every song forward. Wolf’s voice was bold and steady, carrying the melodies with ease while his guitar added a sharpness that anchored the entire performance.

The setlist leaned heavily into The End, giving fans a fuller sense of the album’s scope and its emotional range. “The Spell” lit up the room with sharp hooks, while “Happy” brought a slower, reflective weight that resonated deeply with the crowd. The new tracks blended seamlessly with earlier favourites, each one landing with force that felt both fresh and familiar. The band played with precision and heart, giving every riff and chorus enough room to breathe while still keeping the momentum alive. There were moments when the audience sang loud enough to nearly overpower the stage, and Wolfgang looked genuinely moved as he watched it all unfold.

The stage design was much more elaborate than previous tours, with a giant screen now acting as the backdrop, allowing for various colours, animations, fireworks, and so much more to add a burst of life. As Wolf put it, this was only possible because fans keep coming out and supporting the shows, allowing them to be bigger and better every time. The best use of the screen was without a doubt during “Distance” when clips of Wolf’s home movies were shown, showing his progression in music from day one. It was a sentimental trip down memory lane for everyone, with clips of Wolf playing alongside his father drawing chants of both “Eddie” and “Wolf” from fans, exactly the way it should be.

As the night drew to a close, Mammoth leaned even harder into their chemistry, pushing the energy higher with every remaining song. Wolf thanked the crowd with sincerity that felt unfiltered and warm, acknowledging how meaningful it was to bring this arena-worthy tour to life in intimate rooms like The Roxian. The final stretch of the set came through with the absolute powerhouse “Don’t Back Down” and “The End,” leaving the crowd completely locked in and rocking until the last ringing note. The entire show was a show built on precision and heart, guided by a musician who continues to define his place in rock with confidence and absolute authenticity.
