Few bands in modern metal have achieved the meteoric rise that Jinjer has in recent years. Hailing from Ukraine, Jinjer’s blend of progressive metal, groove, and metalcore has earned them a reputation for technical brilliance and intense live performances. Fronted by the powerhouse vocalist Tatiana Shmayluk, whose vocal range spans from deep guttural growls to haunting cleans, the band has consistently pushed the boundaries of metal. On this tour, they’ve taken things to the next level by featuring brand-new songs from their upcoming fifth studio album, giving fans a sneak peek into their next chapter, and the Roxian was packed tight, brimming in anticipation.

Kicking off the night was Born of Osiris, a band that has long been a staple in the progressive metalcore scene. Their complex song structures, intricate guitar work, and synth-heavy sound have made them one of the most respected names in the genre. Their set was a whirlwind of technical proficiency and relentless energy, with tracks like “Angel or Alien” and “The Machine” sending shockwaves through the crowd. The set also featured featured the three new singles Born of Osiris has released this year, “Elevate,” “A Mind Short Circuiting,” and “In Desolation,” all of which were even more powerful live than the studio versions. Vocalist Ronnie Canizaro and guitarist Lee McKinney traded riffs and screams with flawless precision, while the electronic elements added a futuristic, otherworldly vibe to the performance. Born of Osiris delivered a set that was as mind-bending as it was heavy, leaving the audience in awe of their musicianship. Do note that the set contains almost nonstop pulsating strobes, which for many would look absolutely wicked alongside the music; however, anyone with even a mild sensitivity to flashing lights should beware.

Hanabie was up next and brought a completely different energy to the stage, offering a unique blend of metalcore, J-pop, and electronic influences. The Japanese band completely captivated the crowd with their high-energy performance and eclectic sound. Their entire set was a perfect mix of brutal breakdowns with upbeat, playful elements, creating a dynamic that was as fun as it was heavy. Many in the crowd were clearly here exclusively for Hanabie, evident by lolita-style dresses that matched the band’s own style. Lead vocalist Yukina’s ability to switch from sugary-sweet melodies to fierce growls kept the crowd on their toes, while the band’s infectious energy had the audience bouncing along. Hanabie’s set was a breath of fresh air, offering something unexpected and exciting in the night’s lineup.

When Jinjer finally took the stage, the atmosphere in the room became electric. Opening with “Just Another,” the band immediately showcased why they’ve become one of the most talked-about acts in modern metal. Shmayluk’s vocals were nothing short of mesmerizing, moving effortlessly between guttural growls and ethereal cleans, while the rest of the band delivered their signature tight, groove-heavy sound. Guitarist Roman Ibramkhalilov and bassist Eugene Abdukhanov played with laser focus, their intricate rhythms locking in perfectly with drummer Vladislav Ulasevich’s complex beats. The crowd was fully engaged, headbanging and singing along to every word, but the real treat came when Jinjer began to introduce new material.

Throughout their set, the band showcased several songs from their upcoming, highly anticipated fifth studio album. The new tracks, “Rogue” and “Someome’s Daughter,” as well as the unreleased “Fast Draw,” carried the unmistakable weight and complexity that fans have come to expect from Jinjer but with a fresh and exciting sound that hinted at the continuous growth and evolution of their discography. These new songs were met with overwhelming enthusiasm, as the crowd eagerly absorbed the new material. Shmayluk, ever the enigmatic frontwoman, delivered every song with raw passion, her voice cutting through the air like a blade. The band’s decision to include new music in their set not only excited fans but also showed their confidence in pushing the boundaries of their genre once again.

As the night drew to a close, Jinjer finished their set with a jaw-dropping performance of “Vortex,” a beautiful and heavy song that perfectly encapsulated the entire night. The audience was fully entranced as Shmayluk’s vocals weaved between haunting melodies and brutal growls, proving once again the band’s unparalleled versatility. By the time the final notes rang out, the crowd was left in a state of exhilaration, fully aware they had witnessed something extraordinary. Jinjer’s performance was not only a testament to their technical prowess but also to their ability to connect with fans on an emotional level, solidifying their place as one of the leading bands in modern metal. This tour is a clear sign that Jinjer is not only here to stay but to continue evolving and pushing the boundaries of metal as we know it.
